Back in 1980's it was started as a hobby and a passion on artistic work and later through the entrepreneurial passion of Mr. Philip Samuel (Founder of Ooty Krafts), a BIG step was taken in turning a hobby into a business that could withstand during the test of times in the years to come. During the initial days the business was fondly knows as “Philips Candles” adding a more personal connection to our products.

When Ooty Krafts was registered in the year 1983 there were more than 250 candle manufacturers in and around The Nilgiris District. One brand in this industry which has stood still is "Ooty Krafts" fondly known as "Philips Candles".

Today our products are found and sold in various reputed retail supermarkets and wholesales vendors in and around Ooty, Conoor, Kotagiri, Kundha, Metupalayam, Coimbatore, Erode, Chennai, Bangalore & Mumbai. Our products are also sold to various reputed International Educational Institutions, Star Hotels, Clubs, Government Retails Stores and Churches.

Headed by our Founder and Head of new product development Mr.Philip Samuel, a dedicated team of candle makers at our manufacturing unit manufacture around 50 different candle products in the categories of Household Candles, White Candles, Pillar Candles, Tea Light Candles, Diwali Candles, Christmas Candles, Decorative Candles, Festive Candles, Birthday Candles, Scented Jar Candles, Ooty’s Naturescape Candles and Scented Giftbox Candles.

Second generation Entrepreneur Mr. Immanuel Philip also works closely with the production team to ensure there are constant changes and innovations made to align with the ever-changing market requirements and meet the customer demands.

Recently we ventured into the manufacturing of “Souvenirs” under 3 verticals – Fridge magnets, Keychains and Ceramic Mugs.

A number of wedding and party gift orders on candles have been processed over the years.

Ooty Krafts is also involved in giving back to the society by means of supporting the under-privileged time and again on various basic requirements in their life.

By the Grace of God Almighty Ooty Krafts, has become a pioneer in the candle manufacturing Industry for more than 40 years with its base in Ooty, The Nilgiris.
